Today's Theme For Picture Perfect Is

HOBBY

One of my many many hobbies is Painting.

I LOVE TO PAINT.

To me the whole world is an open canvas, give me a surface and I will paint it.

Today I have two pictures of two different kinds of paintings I have done.

The first I did two years ago with acrylic paint.  I have now painted a few similar to this one, only because certain family/friends have liked it so much they wanted it.  I don't usually paint the same thing twice. I got the idea for this painting from a few smaller paintings I saw at an art show.

I've always wanted to try my hand at stained glass, but right now I don't have the room to do it so I bought a paint that looks like a cheaper version lol of stained glass.  We had new windows put into our home so I saved all the glass and painted this on the glass and have it hanging outside.

Those are AWESOME!!! I didn't know you could paint! I have always wanted to give it a try but it intimidates me so I haven't tried yet. I love those that you done!!! I haven't even started on my picture for the week. I have way too many hobbies and collections to try and pick just one. LOL

The bottom one...Im doing a second one now...have another window, it will take me a few weeks to do...still doing the ruff draft on paper , then I free hand it in the glass.

I used to work with a woman who painted and painted very well, indeed. She gave that up and went on to creating stained glass things like stakes you'd put in a flower pot to hold up the flower. Or something to place in a window.

In any case a local shop lost their source of such items so I called her to go visit the shop owner. They wound up having a rather profitable relationship. No, I didn't even get a cup of coffee out of the deal. (c;

I get my paint from Micheals Craft Store...I use the Gallery Glass Window Colour....But make sure you buy the LEAD colour also, this is the black outline of your painting.

What I usually do it paint lines on some plastic warp, let dry and peel off..then place this onto my window/design...its flexable....then I paint inside the lead lines with my different colours....I also use a putty knife for a different effect....If you make a mistake, let it dry and then you can peal it off...but don't touch it when its wet, its messy and will leave marks.

I have this window outside and it gets rained on...it will fade the colour but once dry it goes back to the org' colour...not keep outside in the cold.snow though, it will crack ....done that lol

Where I used to work there was an elderly German man who used to do all the stained glass work for churches and clients , I could watch him for hours, and every chance I would get I would go down to where he worked and watch him .

Ohhh my god that is SO original!! Paint that looks like stained glass?!? I have tones of old glasses up at the summer place I could practice on ... I GOTTA get me soma dat! Very cool hobby! Even cooler pics ! The flowers are so pretty .... composition in oils.... unusual!

You are a very talented artist...much nicer than the ones I've seen in abstract...stained glass is nice too..my mom actually does that..I have tried the paint like you as well..but mine didn't come out as good. :)
